CSS & London Ambulance Service is delighted to announce that its Pro-Cloud Central Asset Management System has been shortlisted for HealthTech Partnership of the Year at the HSJ Partnership Awards 2022, recognising their outstanding contribution to healthcare – in what has been an exceptional and challenging period across the sector.

Despite the demanding circumstances of the past 2 years, over 190 entries have been received for this year’s HSJ Partnership Awards, with 123 projects making it to the final shortlist. The volume and standards of applications has been a true testament to those health and social care staff, who continue to push outstanding work and transformational projects across the sector.

The judging panel was once again made up of a diverse range of highly influential and respected figures within the healthcare community, including Dr Matt Aiello (National Programmes Lead, Education Reform, Health Education England); Dr Elena Bechberger (National Programme Director – LVHC Programme, NHS England and NHS Improvement); Claire Igoe (Head of Environmental Sustainability – Manchester University FT) and Vinice Thomas (Director of Nursing and Quality, NHS England and NHS Improvement).

Following the intense and in-depth judging process, CSS & London Ambulance Service was shortlisted, ahead of the official awards ceremony on the 24th March 2022. Standing out amongst tough competition from hundreds of other exemplary applicants, the Pro-Cloud Central Asset Management System has been selected based on the demonstrable positive impact that the project has had on patient and staff experiences throughout the London Ambulance Service.

Pro-Cloud is a Central Asset Management System (CAMS) that has been developed to provide visibility and tracking from “Purchase to Patient” of London Ambulances clinical consumables and medical equipment. It is estimated that London Ambulance Service will save £1.35m over 5 years, breaking even by year 3.

The Pro-Cloud technology has added considerable value to London Ambulance by providing a fully auditable system that ensures they are the first ambulance trust in the UK to be GS1 compliant and meet MHRA and CQC requirements, including batch tracing and product recall.

The solution provides return-on-investment across all parts. Through the core basis of asset tracking, stock/asset losses are reduced to a minimum due to full GS1 system traceability, returning financial benefits on high-value assets. Overstocking and stock wastage is curtailed through automated system stock reordering, ensuring unnecessary stock is never ordered, existing stock is fully utilised, and redundant stock is highlighted. A last in, first out methodology is built into the solution, to eliminate expired stock wastage due to lack of proper stock rotation, again proving cost efficiencies.

RFID technology is built into the solution, bringing efficiencies in stock and vehicle checks, saving staff time and increasing uptime availability of vehicles for patients.
